Shanghai International Artwork Trade Month (hereinafter as "Trade Month") is initiated by the Publicity Department of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism, Xuhui District Committee, and Xuhui District Government. The goal of the Trade Month is to “make Shanghai a leading artwork trading center globally, and build the advantage of art industry in Shanghai”, according to the "Shanghai Arts & Culture 50 Initiatives". Following the principle of "policy concentration, subject concentration, transaction concentration and benefit concentration", the first Trade Month will be held in November 2019.
