Museum Long Museum(West Bund)

3398 Longteng Avenue

The Long Museum (West Bund) is located on the old Beipiao Wharf site at 3398 Longteng Ave. The Long Museum is unique: its singular "coal hopper" design unites the enterprising spirit of the Industrial Revolution with the modern character of West Bund in a celebration of urban culture, art, and the environment. Architect Liu Yichun's creation, like its sister institution in Pudong, is "Two Museums in One City," and perfectly anchors West Bund's artistic, design, and technology enterprises. The Long Museum was founded by esteemed collectors Liu Yiqian and Wang Wei.

Seven exhibition halls, with collections of modern art, "Red Classics," traditional Chinese art, and contemporary art from Europe, the Americas, and Asia, are complemented by gift stores, cafés, snack bars, and other facilities. The Long Museum opened its doors on March 28, 2014. This beautiful museum, one of the finest private collections and works of architecture to open anywhere in recent years, is an exciting, open public space in the heart of West Bund.
