In June 2014, the most famous fashion biennial exhibition in Shanghai, the Design Art Fashion Fair—DAFF 2014 spring fair will be held at West Bund. This session of DAFF will bring to the audience a dozen of pop-up shops of international and Shanghai local brands, trendsetter fashion shows, as well as environmental protection concepts and installation art, generating some new ideas on creative lifestyle for Shanghai and even the world.
As the most diversified community event in Shanghai, DAFF is committed to building a biennial platform for information sharing, project promotion and public interaction for Shanghai and more original creativity pioneers. DAFF will provide unprecedented opportunities for all the participants. This year, DAFF selected West Bund with unique riverside scenery to build up its brand new stage and invited many emerging artists. The DAFF brand will be escalated to a new level by virtue of the fair held here at West Bund.
DAFF’s new site is located at the Xuhui Waterfront area, 15-minute drive from the French Concession, which will be converted to the studio of Oriental DreamWorks. The main showroom now covers an area of 6000sqm. There will be follow-up parties held in the adjacent workshop. What’s more, with sufficient area of outdoor space, West Bund is the best choice for DAFF. As the only waterfront area that is large enough for tract development in the central zone of Shanghai, Xuhui Waterfront will see a round of soaring development of the cultural industry in 2014. All the cultural projects in West Bund Culture Corridor are ongoing in full swing. Over the past several months, the Long Museum and the Yuz Museum have successively launched exhibitions. Now with settlement of DAFF, West Bund is better proved becoming a powerful cultural zone in Shanghai or even across the world.
In particular, DAFF 2014 spring fair will initiate the activity #ALLAROUNDUS# to collect creative ideas. The panel is made up of six Chinese artists, including the most controversial new media and visual artist Lu Yang, graffiti artist Lin Zinan, and Taiwanese designer BORSANZENG. As these artists come from different fields, including photography, fashion design, video, graffiti, sculpture and graphic design, they will surely create more opportunities for the public to take part in the activity.
Under all efforts dedicated by all the participants, this DAFF aims to bring new experiences in exhibition at West Bund. Sticking to the DAFF traditions, the novel originality in nomadism shops, fashion shows, music, dining, workshops, and site performances will be fully displayed in two days. In this way, creative lifestyle will be shared with the audience, and at the same time, the public will be inspired to share all the nice things within this beautiful city.
